Quercetin Antioxidant Function & Immune Health Impact

Quercetin—one of the most abundant flavonoids in nature—is also a powerful antioxidant that is very much in demand. More specifically, Quercetin is a flavonol that has been avidly studied for its extraordinary ability to protect the body from oxidative stress and related illnesses. Due to its bioactive anti-inflammatory and antiviral capabilities, Quercetin can positively affect the functionality of our body’s inflammatory and immunity processes.

Quercetin is naturally occurring in foods such as apples and onions, as well as in botanicals, like Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), Fava D’anta (Dimorphandra mollis), and the Pagoda tree (Sophora japonica). A comparative study  found that Quercetin extracted from Fava d’anta had stronger activity in fighting free-radicals than the ones found in other plants.

CAIF offers several forms of high-quality Quercetin, and our team is always available to give guidance on how Quercetin and other naturally sourced botanicals can be used in your product formulations.
